The first time we met Ste was over Skype, and much to our surprise he was wearing a Royal Air Force uniform! He was in his final few weeks of service with a passion for photography and a few weddings already under his belt. Ste was getting ready to set up his photography business and move back to Liverpool.
He, therefore, needed professional branding and a bespoke website that would represent his personality and connect up with his dream clients.
We went for a modern, geometric and fun feel to the branding which reflected Ste’s happy, caring and creative approach to his work.
Since we completed Ste’s branding and website his business has gone from strength to strength, he has been recognised as a Fearless Wedding Photographer and has been photographing weddings all over the UK and Europe.
I decided to hire Grizzly Bear Design to make my website because they simply make spectacular websites. I also had to trust them. I couldn’t do it simply based on their portfolio. After a Skype call and a meeting with the guys I knew I was in the right hands. They didn’t just want to make me a great website, they wanted the website to both reflect me and make it appeal to the type of clients I wanted to work with. They were able to do this by going into detail about why I do what I do and who I do it for. My site is not only what I wanted but what it had to be.
I feel like the work that have done has been nothing less than perfect. I don’t really like saying things like this in reviews but they’re are a team on creatives and technical web thingy code blah blah and they have just done what they do perfectly. I’m so happy.
Obviously, I’m happy with the overall experience but I’m mostly happy about how they were open to my ideas and how they adapted my input in a creative way and when executed they just amazed me every time.
If I HAD to change one thing about their service it would be move your studio nearer to me. The reason is that they are really cool people who are chasing their dreams and share like minded passions to photographers. I could visit them more frequently and hang out. I’ll be meeting up with the guys in London at the Nine Dots Gathering in November so it will be great to catch up then.
My least favourite thing about the whole experience was waiting for the site to be finished. But these things are not to be rushed. If you want a site that when people land on it think “yeah, this person is serious, creative, professional, artistic and awesome” then it takes, trail and error, testing, design swaps, meetings, feedback etc. In fact my least favourite things could be one of my favourites. The fact the guys took their time and made sure everything was perfect before launching it.
If someone was on the fence about choosing a designer for their website I’d not hesitate to say using GBD will be the best investment you could make. In fact even if your not a photographer or even need a website, get one anyway.
My biggest worry was spending my money and investing my time in a site for it to be not what I wanted. But from the first phone call the fear is gone. The fear turns into excitement and as it all comes together you just get more excited.
It was an experience in itself and want to thank the guys for their professionalism, creativity and hard work. I’ve taken them up on many other services as well as my website including my branding, hosting, soon SEO training and I have some more design projects coming up and I’ll not hesitate to use them again.
